Polished Michigan Pudding Stone – Red Jasper, Chert & Quartz 039
This puddingstone comes from the end cut of a larger rock. It boasts a nice Triangular shape that sets and displays beautifully on its own with a luxurious large, banded jasper cap. Like nearly every puddingstone, the quartz and jaspers take a pristine polish while the matrix maintains a super smooth, yet natural look.
A puddingstone is a jasper conglomerate that formed in Canada from ancient riverbeds and lakeshores. Eventually, the water stopped flowing and the deposits of red jasper, black chert, quartz and other stones that had been laid out over time in the quartz sand, turned to sandstone. Through massive heat and pressure, these sandstones metamorphized into a beautiful white quartzite matrix that still shows off its beautiful inclusions.
