Polished Michigan Pudding Stone - Red Jasper, Chert & Quartz (014)
Puddingstones are exciting finds! A puddingstone is a jasper conglomerate that formed in Canada from ancient riverbeds and lakeshores. Eventually, the water stopped flowing and the deposits of red jasper, black chert, quartz and other stones that had been laid out over time in the quartz sand, turned to sandstone. Through massive heat and pressure, these sandstones metamorphized into a beautiful white quartzite matrix that still shows off its beautiful inclusions.
*About This Rock*
You will receive the exact rock in this listing.
This stone tells a tale of its epic history from when it was first formed, to when glaciers ripped it from its home and placed it here in Michigan to be hand picked and carefully polished. There are a couple of natural pit areas that were left intentionally to show this and a fracture runs through a corner jasper that was filled in. This rock has been a warrior and is display ready.
