Polished Michigan Petoskey Stone with Crinoid and Cladapora inclusions
Michigan's State Stone, the Petoskey Stone is an extinct fossilized coral called Hexoganaria. They were fossilized in limestone and are primarily made of calcite! These fossils are of Devonian age, dating back 365-450 million years.

You will receive the rock listed in the above images. This rock has amazing contrasts between the deep rich browns and black lithified sediment that filled this stones damaged area millions of years ago. Included in that sediment were other fossils including crinoid and Cladapora which are also visible within the polish! Flat lap polished to a high shine and a smooth to the touch finish will keep this stone beautiful for a long time.
