Puddingstones are exciting finds! A puddingstone is a jasper conglomerate that formed in Canada from ancient riverbeds and lakeshores. Eventually, the water stopped flowing and the deposits of red jasper, black chert, quartz and other stones that had been laid out over time in the quartz sand, turned to sandstone. Through massive heat and pressure, these sandstones metamorphized into a beautiful white quartzite matrix that still shows off its beautiful inclusions.
